Westcore Properties Signs $3.1 Million Lease With Mad Engine For Prominent Otay Mesa Warehouse

WESTCORE PROPERTIES SIGNS $3.1 MILLION LEASE WITH MAD ENGINE FOR PROMINENT OTAY MESA WAREHOUSE
OTAY MESA, Calif. – May 11, 2015 – Responding to strong interest in Class-A commercial industrial properties, Westcore Properties has signed a $3.1 million, 66-month lease with tenant Mad Engine, Inc. for warehouse space in Otay Mesa.

Located less than a mile from the Otay Mesa Port of Entry at 8917 Kerns St., the 104,180-square-foot, state-of-the-art industrial building was constructed in 2006. Westcore Properties acquired the building in September 2014 to support the company’s strategic approach in acquiring Class-A commercial real estate assets in growing sub-markets.

Mad Engine is a licensed apparel wholesaler with plans to consolidate its inventory into the new space and also handle distribution for its products from this location. Mad Engine will move into its new location this month.

“There was strong interest in this building almost immediately after we acquired it,” said Marc Brutten, founder and chairman of Westcore Properties. “As rental rates increase and quality space is hard to find in the central San Diego market, tenants are looking for options in sub-markets, which has increased the demand for Class-A buildings like ours.”

In this transaction, Westcore Properties was represented by Ron Bement of Cushman & Wakefield. Mad Engine was represented by Joe Anderson of Jones Lange LaSalle.
